We are a growing community, located in the heart of Monroe County, Illinois. We have a great deal of historic charm and beauty to offer, with three museums, several restaurants and gift shops, four golf courses, quaint festivals, farmers’ markets, and many more family-friendly activities.

Folks have been known to stop by for a visit and decide to stay permanently!

Waterloo is a wonderful community! We have great schools, friendly neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and so much more! With our population of 10,000, we offer a small-town atmosphere that is just 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Missouri, a perfect combination for those who desire a slower, simpler lifestyle yet still want access to metropolitan amenities.
