About the Chamber
The Waterloo Chamber of Commerce is an organization comprising local businesses, industries, nonprofits, and professionals that promotes the interests of our local business community. Together, we provide access to valuable resources to improve the economic, civic, and cultural climate of our community.
Since 1929, the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce has been dedicated to supporting businesses and fostering a strong community presence. Over the years, our projects and programs have changed to meet the needs of our growing community. One thing has remained constant – taking an active role in making our community a better place to live, work, and play.
We are dedicated to supporting and advancing educational opportunities for our youth in the Waterloo Community. Each year, we commit to two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors attending Waterloo High School or Gibault Catholic High School. We also invest annually in our local Monroe County StartUP program. This program is a community partnership between local high school students and area businesses that transforms the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
Membership in the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce provides members with opportunities to expand their network, increase visibility, promote their business, develop leadership and professional skills, and contribute to influencing local and regional initiatives.
The key functions and benefits of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce include:
- Advocacy: We advocate for the interests of local businesses, representing their concerns to local, regional, and national governments.
- Networking: We organize monthly luncheons, meet-and-greets, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and after-hours mixers that enable our members to meet potential clients and partners.
- Community Engagement: We organize and support community events, charitable initiatives, and local development projects that help strengthen the local business environment.
- Marketing and Promotion: We promote your events, news, and accomplishments in our weekly newsletter and create awareness through advertising opportunities from sponsorships.
We connect the business community with ideas, inspiration, and each other, bringing people together to shape the place we love.
